Milling
Traditional milling
Traditional milling remains an important part of the work of our company.
Even though more and more products are made by numeric-control workstations, there is still much need for traditional milling machine, and therefore we strive to maintain our range of milling machines in the best possible conditions. The versatility of these machines and the experience of our personnel allow us to be particularly competitive in the market for individual pieces, prototypes or items that require special manufacture.
CNC numeric-control milling machines
Numeric-control milling, which uses specialised tools, allows for the creation of a wide range of shapes and surfaces via the removal of shaved layers of material. This is a well-known and trusted process which, thanks to the various phases of manufacture (usually roughing and then finishing), gives the final product the necessary shape and tollerances.
In order to meet our clients needs, Officine Meccaniche Marcucci, has four latest-generation CNC plants, of 3-, 4- and 5-axis. The 4- and 5-axis machines are best suited to high-precision items, since they allow for a smaller number of tightening torques compared to traditional milling machines or 3-axis systems. Furthermore, given the the larger number of axis that are controlled at the same time, we can complete the machining of 3 or more faces contemperanously.
