Rectification
Officine Meccaniche Marcucci offers a rounded rectification machine, a centreless rectification machine and a rectification machine without levels. The rounded rectification machines are used for the working of cylindrical, canonical or moulded surfaces. They can be used for internal or external surfaces. The rounded rectification is carried out mounting the item onto a mandrel, which gently turns in the same direction as the grindstone. The mandrel also allows for axial feeding. The grindstone turns quickly and removes the material necessary.
The centreless rectification machine is instead used for the working of long, thin and small pieces, i.e. those that cannot be blocked between the mandrel and counterpoint. In this process, the object is placed between two grindstones rotating in the same direction, one called the large operator that turns quickly that works the surface of the object; and the second known as the dragging grindstone - this is smaller, turns more slowly and serves to rotate the piece and keep it fixed against the large operator. There is also a blade that supports the object during working.
These are precision machines, trusty and highly-advanced that are used in the food sector, the car industry (to make bearings and electric motors) tool-making and textiles, for instance.
Level rectification machines on the other hand serve to work flat surfaces, and fall into two categories based on the position of the grindstone: tangential rectification and frontal rectification. In the first, the grindstone-bearing shaft is parallel to the level that is being worked, of the cylindrical surface of the grindstone: in the second, the shaft is vertical to the surface being worked which faces the grindstone.
